Does everything happen for a reason?
John08 asked:
Is there a purpose for everything that happens, even if I didn’t really do anything wrong to warrant what was done to me? No, I’m not trying to play the victim. Is it all just a set of circumstances that occured which were out of my control? No, I’m not a perfect person. However, I am a quality person who doesn’t do drugs, not an alcoholic, am educated, never try to steer people wrong, treat others how I would want to be treated, have goals and objectives, and take care of myself. No, I’m not complaining. I don’t want anybody to feel sorry for me or sympathize for me. I lost my job (and two other people in my same position in that same workplace got fired within 4 weeks after I was let go), I’m about to lose my home, I’ve gotten 3 bull**** traffic tickets, my girlfriend left me for a lowlife pothead guy who works at the airport as a baggage handler, I was forced to take a lower paying job because I didn’t want to be unemployed. All of this happened within a 4 month timeframe.
However, I have been attending graduate school to earn an MBA, and have been doing really well. I also, have dreams and so forth. I guess I could say I wasn’t exactly happy where I’ve been at these past 4 months. Did all of this misfortune happen as an act of god, to direct me into a better path, or a presdestined life. Basically, my dreams are to be highly skilled/educated, own my own sucessful business, have a sweet loving wife, have children, a beautiful home, and have many quality people in my life. I just need a few perspectives on all of this. Did all of this happen for a reason, to reinvent myself? Because, honestly as odd as it sounds I didn’t really do anything to warrant all of what happened to me. Yes, most of the time things happen as a result of decisions and actions. Could this just be a big opportunity to become what I want to become?
Or are these sets of circumstances that not all people, but a lot people go through at some point in their life?

On the road of life, there are windshields and there are bug splats.

Yes, everything happens for a reason. To have an effect, you must have a cause. We just don’t always know what that is and if we don’t know it is really not worth worrying about it, you just have to go with the flow, roll with the punches. Don’t worry too much about what might have been in the past, just aim for a better future.

I think, it is very difficult to find out whether everything happens for a reason or the happening creates a reason.

I believe that all things happen for a reason. If you keep going forth God will show you the light. There maybe something better coming your way, but you need to be patient. Good things come to those that wait. Remember you are not forsaken, pray for guidance from the Lord and He will lead you to your correct path.
His mercies never come to an end; they are new Every Morning: great is thy faithfulness Lamentations 3:22-23

Everything indeed has a reason, that reason just might not be you. Your gf might just have fallen in love and the cop might just have been cranky. Driving yourself nuts over the meaning of luck and bad luck will get you nothing. “Is it a warning from the forces of good to change my ways?”, “Is it an attempt from the forces of evil to steer me wrong?”, “Is it punishment?”, “Is it warning?”.
If you know the reason, you can learn from it. If for example you were speeding (even a little) and got a ticket for it, you might want to pay closer attention to the speed limit next time. Just take your setbacks one at a time and don’t let “the big plan” scare you.

Interesting.. See the positive in each and every action. You will soon realize that everything happens for a reason. I am not a preacher of Hindu Religion.. but what Bagavad Gita(a holy book ) says that.. what ever happened before its for the goodness.. whatever is happening now is for the goodness.. and whatever will happen in the future is for the goodness.
Also another poem says “we are responsible for our happiness and our sorrows and not others.Being happy and consoling ourself after a sorrow is also not because of others but its because of our will and our mind..Take life as it comes. Never expect anything from anyone..that will make your life very happy..you took a lower paying job because u dont want to be unemployed.. thats a very righteous action.. Think of those who are unemployed .they are struggling to get a job aren’t they? But dont lose hope..fix a target and achieve it. Work hard to achieve you target.. and you will find the truth “Everything happens for a reason”..

Dont ever think that its only you or only some people who are undergoing their tough times always. Every one have their own problem. Some problems dont have solution at all.. Do you know that one of my friends have everything in his life.. but his left eye is partially blind. We should lose something to get something..If the beggar bothers about his starvation.. the rich person bothers about how to save the money.. if the old guy fears about his last days.. the young child bothers about the school work.. if a young man bothers about his lady love.. the woman bothers about the dress or bracelet which she missed.. TAKE LIFE AS IT COMES.. Be open about yourself to others.. but dont expect the same from others.. Dont expect anything from anyone.. that will make you live happier
